In economics, the concept of 'consumer equilibrium describes the situation where a consumer has reached the maximum total Utility from making choices in consuming goods. In normal language: a buyer tries to maximize their overall 'happiness' from buying a combination of products. There is an optimum 'amount' for each product after which additional units of a product do not give the same pleasure any more.
