The hardest part of sales is dealing with rejection. In How you make the sale author Frank McNair gives us the following tips:
- Don't take it personally
- Even though you take everything you have into the sale it is important to remember that i rejection is not likely to be because of you
- More likely they reject your business proposition
- Learn what you can from every rejection
- Try to get to the root cause of the buyers decision
- Remember quadrant 2 of The Problem Awareness Grid. Make sure that you invest in the relationship and wait.
- Play the percentages
- It is impossible to get a 100% hit rate. Hearing "no" will be more common than hearing "yes"
- Know your hitrate and focus on what you have acomplished.
- Remember: they can't hate you. they don't even know you
