The hardest part of sales is dealing with rejection. In How you make the sale author Frank McNair gives us the following tips:

  1. Don't take it personally
    1. Even though you take everything you have into the sale it is important to remember that i rejection is not likely to be because of you
    2. More likely they reject your business proposition
  2. Learn what you can from every rejection
    1. Try to get to the root cause of the buyers decision
    2. Remember quadrant 2 of The Problem Awareness Grid. Make sure that you invest in the relationship and wait.
  3. Play the percentages
    1. It is impossible to get a 100% hit rate. Hearing "no" will be more common than hearing "yes"
    2. Know your hitrate and focus on what you have acomplished.
  4. Remember: they can't hate you. they don't even know you
