Ideation of strategy options

There are several ways to generate new strategic market options:

  • Trend spotting
  • Weakness audit
  • A strength analysis based on the companies history:
    • What are we good at?
    • Can we successfully use our heritage as leverage for further expansion of our company?
  • Value Innovation
  • Customer Process Mapping
  • Other sources of inspiration:
    • Mapping the competition on the four dimensions of The CODA framework
    • Examine 'lead companies'
    • Exploiting the Value network:
      • Innovative strategic market options may be found for searching for Complementors. It is important to realize though that complementors have equal interest in creating economic value but opposite interest in distributing this value.
